Zoltron x Zombie Yeti

Limited Artist Release January 3, 2018 at The Zoltron Store.
Stay Tuned for more info Soon™

Once again, myself and the evocative Mr Zombie Yeti Studios collaborated on a couple of posters for the Primus shows in LA this weekend.
The latest Primus album is called “The Desaturated Seven,” which is based on an amazing 1970s children’s book called “The Rainbow Goblins.”
It’s a story about these creepy, groveling, insatiable goblins who will stop at nothing, using their trusty rainbow lassos, to capture and extract all the color from rainbows, rendering all of nature void of color for the rest of time… What assholes.

For our posters, we decided to create some vintage Advertisements, pandering to those devious, conniving goblins. These posters were pages pulled directly from a high profile, internationally published Goblin Magazine, marketing the all new Primus Brand Rainbow Lassos® which, as 6 out of 7 goblins agree, Desaturate Rainbows much faster than the old Rainbow Lassos®.

Posters are 6 color screen prints, measure 24” X 18” and come from an edition of 275 for each night.
Posters will be available at the show on Friday and Saturday nights, with a small number signed by the band.

We will be releasing artist copies (as well as some rainbowie variants) before noon on Jan 3rd at The Zoltron.com Store. Stay tuned for release info.

Well my fellow Golins and Goblettes.. Here we are once again. It’s Fall 2017 and our 3 men of extreme power,
Les, Larry and Tim are touring in support of their new album, The Desaturating Seven.

The album is based on one of my favorite childhood story books called, “The Rainbow Goblins.”
Zoila used to read it to us at Day Care and it always kept the kid's attention.
Beautifully illustrated and darkly compelling, just like all the best children’s stories throughout history..

In fact, the story itself is somehow a perfect analogy for modern times. You see, there’s this group of insatiable goblins,
(one of them is orange) who plot and scheme to steal all of the colors from the rainbow with their lassos, rendering nature devoid and colorless...
Mining everything timeless and natural and beautiful for their personal profit and instant gratification.

But the universe is interconnected in a way that no goddamn goblin could understand and nature fights back.
The roots hear the goblin's scheming and they inform the tress, who tell the birds, and the birds tell the hills
and nature conspires to put an end to the goblins unbelievable selfishness and madness.

At least that’s how I explained it to the artists, when I asked them to do a poster loosely tied to that theme.

For each stop on the tour, we will have a limited number of beautifully designed, hand printed posters available at the merch booth. We supply tubes when we can and as usual we expect all of the posters to sell out int a hurry. So get there early and get in line, before some conniving, bottom feeding flipper goblin beats you to the punch!

So here we go, in alphabetical order, our list of colorful poster artists is…

Well.. It’s that time of year once again and the boys are hitting the road for a summer Primus Tour of extreme testicular fortitude with the undeniable band, Clutch!

Once more, for a multitude of unknown reasons, the band called on me to rabble rouse a ragtag group of eclectic artists and put together another custom poster series.
A continuation of the culmination. An extension of the amalgamation. The very same series which one mysterious and unknown ticket scalper from Modesto, California once called, “an unparalleled collection of raw gig poster power, rivaled by none...”

And with that, I called up a number of savvy Primus veterans and mixed in a healthy dose of fresh, heavily artistic Primus fledglings to the mix. And once again our poster family grows... You know what they say after all. The family that makes posters together eats oysters together.. Actually. I'm sorry. No one ever said that. Ever. I digress.

For each and every show, festivals withstanding, we will have a very limited number of unique, hand printed silkscreen posters, each designed by a different artist
and printed by an undisclosed number of talented printers across the country, available for purchase at the merch booth during each show of the tour.

Individual posters will be announced and unveiled the day of each show via Primus’ Facebook page and here at Zoltron.com
Prints will be available at each corresponding venue and through the artist’s sites, linked below, sometime following each show.

So it is with great honor and an endless, growing stream of emails between artists, printers, paper companies, management, merch guys, fedex associates, and the occasional guy named doug, that i present you the artist lineup for the Summer Tour.

Without further askew…. The alphabetical list of contributing poster artists is as follows.

Earth People! After a 22 Year Slumber, The Doctor is in...

It's been 22 years since the release of one of the best and most original hiphop albums of all time, Dr. Octagonecologyst.
That legendary lineup of Kool Keith, Dan the Automator and Q-Bert (with iconic album art by Pushead)
was one of those rare, perfect marriages of style, skill, substance... And skulls.

That album fueled our studio's creative endeavors for years and still does...
On April 5th, their new album Moosebumps drops!

I worked with Kool Keith on this poster. I wanted to pay tribute to that infamous sex crazed, psychopathic surgeon,
the undeniable doctor, and create something iconic and confrontational. Boris Karloff meets Charlie Manson,
behind the dumpster fire at the police-barricaded, inner-city gynecologist office, in the year 3000.

It became a sort of an unofficial dyptich to an Alice in Chains poster I did in 2009.

Prints will be available at their record release party at The Brooklyn Bowl, Thursday April 5th,
with an artist release, sometime during the following week of April 9th here at Zoltron.
(that's right.. new york to california. same venue from this kool keith poster release)
